Damages for fall at work

A labourer has been awarded £15,700 for injuries to his foot he sustained in a fall at work. He was descending from a fork lift truck when his right foot stepped on to a bolt protruding from the floor. The bolt had previously held some supports in position for barriers which had been removed but the bolts remained fixed on to the floor. As he stepped on to the bolt his right foot twisted over and outwards causing him to fall on to a pallet injuring his right foot and ankle.
