JLT Re has boosted its North American operations with three senior appointments. In Chicago, Steve Pekala has been named senior vice-president and treaty manager, and Tom McCartney vice-president, while in New York Jeff Considine becomes senior vice-president. Pekala and McCartney both join from Aon Benfield. Pekala was most recently vice-president responsible for business development and has 20 years of underwriting and broking experience in the US treaty market. McCartney has more than eight years of reinsurance broking experience in North America and was previously assistant vice-president in Aon Benfield’s workers’ compensation treaty reinsurance team. Considine joins JLT Re from Guy Carpenter, where he was managing director. He has more than 20 years of experience in the US treaty reinsurance market.
