FSA gets tough on key roles

The regulator wants more involvement in the selection of candidates

Financial services firms have been told to involve the regulator in drafting short-lists of candidates for key senior roles. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) said it wants the option to interview all candidates on the short-list, rather than just the preferred candidate selected by the company as part of its new, more proactive approach to supervision.
