State Farm to appeal

ILLINOIS-BASED insurer State Farm plans to appeal an order from Texas state insurance commissioner, Mike Geeslin, to pay $310m to Texas customers for overcharging for homeowner protection in 2003. State Farm representative Kevin Davis said: “We disagree with the order and the rationale for the order.” He said the ruling challenged State Farm financially and created “an unstable environment” for consumers in the state.
