Indirect effect of nanoparticles study

A new scientific study has concluded that medically used nanoparticles can damage the DNA of cells without crossing cellular barriers in the body. The study, published in Nature Nanotechnology, was conducted on cells grown in culture and suggests that the indirect effects of nanoparticles on cells should be considered when evaluating their safety.
