An AMECable arrangement

On 26 October 2009 the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) concluded its second ever Civil Recovery settlement, with the construction company AMEC plc. The settlement saw AMEC agree to pay nearly UK£5 million plus a contribution towards associated costs. It also appointed an independent consultant to review and report on its existing ethics and compliance programmes to ensure that these are maintained at the highest standards.
