Judicial pay frozen
The government has accepted the recommendations of the Senior Salaries Review Body that there be no increase in pay for its
remit groups, including the judiciary for 2010-11. The Lord Chancellor has explained that pay must reflect the prevailing
economic conditions, including recruitment and retention which is currently very strong in the public sector. He also stated
the importance of senior public servants showing leadership on pay in the context of a current approach of pay restraint in
the public sector more generally.
