NHSLA facing potential “perfect storm” over costs of litigation

The Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts is facing a potential “perfect storm” according to Steve Walker, chief executive of the NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA), as several factors loom on the horizon any of which will add to the costs of litigation in isolation and, taken together, could add many millions of pounds to the NHSLA’s annual expenditure and to its provisions and its contributions.
