HIGHWAY ENTERS IRISH MARKET THROUGH ARB GROUP BROKERS
UK-based insurer HIghway has re-entered the Irish motor market through a deal with locally owned ARB Group, which will sell
cover through its 300-strong broker network. Highway effectively left the Irish market last year after its previous distributor
Wright Group signed a deal with US insurer
St Paul Travelers. The
Irish Independent
reported that Highway would be seeking about 30,000 individual clients and turnover of between 15m euro and 25m euro in its
first year of operation. ARB Group director John Kennedy said that the deal would allow the broker to sell to more mainstream
customers. Previously it had focused on non-standard business. Mr Kennedy said that “by joining forces with Highway we can
now complement our niche products with more traditional motor products, which in turn should increase our customer base significantly”.
