S&P sees little improvement in profitability of motor insurers

Proposed legislation by the UK government to reduce the cost of motor insurance civil claims are unlikely to improve insurers’ underwriting profitability over the longer term, according to Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services in a report entitled “UK Motor Insurers Are In Recovery Mode, But Face Obstacles Ahead.”
