£42,000 in compensation for arm injury

A builder has received £42,000 in compensation in an out of court settlement after permanently injuring his arm in an accident at work. He was working on a building site helping to renovate a ground-floor flat. His colleagues had constructed a wooden ramp which had been placed over the steps leading up into the property. As he stepped onto the ramp to enter the property, it tilted to one side and collapsed and his left arm struck the doorframe.
