RSA INSURANCE UNVEILS TITANIC INSURANCE DOCUMENT

UK-based insurer RSA has released to public view a hull & machinery insurance document for the Titanic, 100 years to the day after the ship sunk. Royal Insurance, a predecessor of RSA, was one of perhaps up to 100 insurers that were on the £1m (then $4m) 1912 slip, equal to about £65m today. Its own payout was £4,000, with each insurer covering about 1% of the value, according to Richard Turner, marine director at RSA.
