INTRODUCTION
8.1
The reasons for the retreat, over the last thirty-five years or so, from the traditional shipped bill of lading, have already been described, in outline, in chapter 1.1 Successive revisions of the UCP, since 1974, have responded to this, and to the development of replacement forms of documentation.
