7.001 We have already seen how technical measures can be used to guard against piracy.1 Technology can certainly assist in the fight against the other crimes considered in Chapters 3 to 5, nearly all of which depend on either a misrepresentation in the bill of lading (or other document), or impersonation of the person entitled to take delivery of the cargo. Both could be made more difficult by technological advances.
