Protecting from significant harm

In re J (Children) (Care Proceedings: Threshold Criteria) Supreme Court, TLR, 26 February

A possibility that a parent had harmed some other child in the past did not establish that children now in that parent’s care were “likely to suffer significant harm” within the meaning of s31(2)(a) of the Children Act 1989 so as to cross the threshold for the initiation of care proceedings by a local authority.
