£27,000 settlement for injured cyclist
A cyclist who was struck by a car and thrown from his bike has received £27,000 in an out of court settlement. The force of
the impact threw him from his bike and caused him to land heavily on his left shoulder and arm. The man suffered a broken
ankle and severely injured his coccyx. He has since been diagnosed with “coccydynia,” a rare condition used to describe persistent
pain at the very bottom of the spine which is usually caused by some form of trauma such as a fall. He can no longer withstand
any direct pressure on his coccyx and is currently waiting to undergo an operation to have part of his coccyx removed.
