The heated arguments, still going on in Washington, over the renewal of the US’s federal terrorism insurance backstop suggest the initiative has been a victim of its own success, according to Hiscox terrorism underwriter, Richard Halstead, who warned policyholders worried about the implications of non-renewal to seek out standalone cover “sooner rather than later”.
