UNINSURED DRIVERS IN NZ INVOLVED IN INCREASING NUMBER OF CRASHES
Uninsured drivers were involved in NZD6.4m ($5.31m) worth of damages in New Zealand last year, up 10% on 2011, according to AA Insurance New Zealand. It said that it processed claims involving 2,600 at-fault uninsured drivers, some 270 more than in the previous year. Insurance and Savings Ombudsman Karen Stevens said recently that many teenagers were driving around with voided insurance cover, because they were breaching the conditions of their restricted licences, reported stuff.co.nz.
