FIRST NAMED STORM OF 2014 LIKELY TO FORM TODAY IN ATLANTIC

The first tropical depression of the 2014 Atlantic season has formed off the East Coast of Florida, and is expected to become tropical storm Arthur within the next few hours. Tropical Depression One currently has maximum sustained winds of 35mph, but the National Hurricane Centre said it is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm later today.One the depression has developed into tropical storm Arthur, the current projected NHC path takes it up the East Coast towards North Carolina as a tropical storm.
