Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Joshua R Schwartz and I serve as general counsel and regional compliance officer for Ace Bermuda Insurance. My responsibilities include providing legal advice on professional lines, excess liability, property and reinsurance claims; participating in mediations, arbitrations and other litigation; counselling underwriters on policy wording and reinsurance (facultative and treaty) wordings; assisting with new insurance product development; ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations; and providing advice on risk management issues. I also provide oversight for the legal and compliance functions for our London and Dublin subsidiary operations at Ace Bermuda International and serve on Ace Bermuda’s risk, management audit, reserving, pension and investment committees.
