Safety record continues to improve

A new report from Allianz suggests the maritime industry is continuing to improve on its safety record, as Rahul Khanna, of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, reveals

With as much as 90% of trade estimated to be transported by sea, the safety of international shipping vessels is critical to the health of the global economy. The maritime industry continued to improve its safety record in 2014 with 75 total losses reported worldwide; the lowest in 10 years, according to Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty’s third annual Safety and Shipping Review, which analyses reported shipping losses of more than 100 GT.
