Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements enters force
On 1 October 2015 the Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements 2005 entered into force in the European Union, binding
all EU member states except Denmark, writes Gaute Gjelsten, a partner with Wikborg Rein in Norway. This is an important step
in the implementation of the convention and, going forward, it will require careful consideration by any parties entering
into cross-border international commercial contracts even though, for the time being, its scope and impact remain limited.
