Those involved in the practice of arbitration will be delighted to see that this excellent work has gone into a second edition. As can be seen, the celebrated author of the first edition has been joined by a similarly eminent figure in writing the main part of the book concerning general principles. As before, an illustrious team of contributors provide specialist sections—John Tackaberry on “Evidence at Hearings and in Documents-Only Arbitrations”, Derek Kirby Johnson on “Commodity Trade Arbitration”, Margaret Rutherford on “Documents-Only Arbitration in Consumer Disputes”, Leslie Alexander and Maurice Pleasance on “Construction Industry Arbitrations”, Michael Summerskill on “Maritime Arbitrations”, W. G. Nutley on “Rent Review and Property Valuation Arbitrations”, Jan Paulsson on “International Commercial Arbitrations” and B. W. Vigrass on “The Role of Institutions in Arbitration”. Once again there are useful appendices containing relevant statutory material, sets of arbitration rules and precedents.
The work remains a guide to arbitration practice, concerning itself with the practical issues which confront those who are involved in the arbitral process, whether as arbitrators, advocates or otherwise. Thus, the style continues to be refreshingly straightforward and, while
