Rosa Greaves’ Transport Law of the European Community provides a very welcome addition to the literature on EEC transport law. Its chief virtue is its very useful general coverage of all modes of transport. This general coverage is particularly important, as the transport industry has a special place in the EEC Treaty. The EEC Treaty, and subsidiary legislation made from it, constantly refers to the “distinctive features of transport” (cf. EEC Treaty, Art. 75(1)) and indeed a common transport policy is specifically envisaged by Arts. 3(e) and 74–84 of the EEC Treaty. This special treatment for the transport sector is
