MK International v. The Housing Bank
In MK International Development Co. Ltd. v. The Housing Bank,1 the plaintiff (MKI) was one of two associated companies which, together with their controlling shareholder (K), were allegedly owed money by one Sharif Zeid Hussein Bin Nasser (ZBN), the nephew of King Hussein of Jordan. Unable to obtain payment from ZBN, K wrote to King Hussein on MKI notepaper asking him to put pressure on his nephew to pay his debts. As a result of this action, and on instructions from King Hussein’s Palace, the defendant bank (the bank) drew a cheque on Arab Bank
