Lloyd's Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly

BOOK REVIEW - SECURITY ON MOVEABLE PROPERTY AND RECEIVABLES IN EUROPE

SECURITY ON MOVEABLE PROPERTY AND RECEIVABLES IN EUROPE edited by Michael G. Dickson, Wolfgang Rosenor and Paul M. Storm. ESC Publishing Ltd., Oxford (1988, v and 208 pp., plus 19 pp. Appendices). Paperback £27.50.
Given the advent of the single European market, comparative commercial law publications of this type are likely to proliferate as there is a need for banking and other practitioners to have at least an overview of security and registration regimes in other EEC countries. This is because modern transactions are invariably multi-jurisdictional in nature and this book is orientated at practitioners seeking that basic overview. For academic readers interested in comparative commercial law, however, this book is probably too basic and lightly footnoted to be considered as anything but an introductory text.
