This Manual adopts the style of an annotated statute, in fact two statutes from Australia: the Insurance (Agents and Brokers) Act 1984 and the Insurance Contracts Act 1984. The regulations made under both Acts are also included, although there is no commentary attached to these.
The first named author is the Chairman of the Law Reform Commission of Victoria and the co-author is a solicitor in New South Wales. Their declared intention is to bring the important new legislation to the attention of those working in the insurance industry and to the legal profession and, by means of a commentary on each section, to highlight the changes brought about.
