DEFAULT JUDGMENT IN SECTION 4 CASES

There has long been an anomaly in the Rules of Court that, whereas the issue of a summons under Order 14 operates to suspend the time for delivery of defence, the issue of a summons under Section 4 of the Arbitration Act does not have that effect.
