 Head of marine named

ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Argo Group, has announced the appointment of Steve O’Gorman as head of marine. Steve reports to Bruno Ritchie, director of underwriting and active underwriter. The former head of marine, Philip Thorpe-Apps, takes on an expanded position as global head of marine and energy. Steve joins from CNA Insurance where he served, most recently, as European underwriting director – transport and logistics. He began his insurance career in 1984 as a marine hull, cargo and liability broker at Sedgwick, progressing to associate director of the cargo division.
