LIBERTY MUTUAL NAMES ASHER AS PRESIDENT OF SAFECO UNIT

US property/casualty group Liberty Mutual Insurance has named Tyler Asher as president of its Safeco Insurance unit. Asher has been with Safeco for nearly 18 years, most recently serving as vice-president of distribution insights, managing strategy, planning, innovation, and operational and advanced analytics. He succeeds Matthew Nickerson, who was recently named executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Liberty Mutual’s Global Consumer Markets east region. “The marketplace for personal insurance is rapidly changing and Tyler’s experience with agents, his knowledge of the industry and commitment to innovation will help us continue to grow our already strong position in the independent agency channel,” said Jim MacPhee, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Liberty Mutual US Consumer Markets.
