Firms urged to make immediate MiFID II applications

Firms that need new or varied authorisations under MiFID II should apply now “or risk being unable to operate in the UK market” after the directive takes effect on 3 January 2018, according to the Financial Conduct Authority. The regulator is also embarking on the final policy publication stages before the legislation implementing MiFID II is introduced on 3 July this year.
