Salvors servicing more than 2.5 million tonnes of potential pollutants in 2016


The International Salvage Union Associate Members’ Day held recently in London highlighted the services provided by members to the shipping industry. We take a look at the events of the day


International Salvage Union (ISU) members provided services in cases involving more than 2.5 million tonnes of potential pollutants in 2016. Their work involved 213 services to vessels. This data is from the results of the ISU’s 2016 Pollution Prevention Survey. The survey was re-based in 2014 to include a wider range of potential pollutants including containers and hazardous and dirty bulk cargoes.
