US Panel finds no evidence of Gulf War Syndrome

Although soldiers who were deployed during the 1990-1991 Gulf War got many illnesses, a panel of experts seeking evidence of a suspected Gulf War Syndrome has concluded that no such evidence can be found. Almost 30 percent of Gulf War veterans have suffered illnesses with multiple symptoms, as compared with 16 percent of troops who did not participate in the Gulf War, but there is no evidence of a coherent set of symptoms indicating an overall syndrome, according to the panel.
