No Prosecution over assisted suicide

The CPS has decided that no action will be taken against the family and friends of a terminally-ill man who died in an assisted suicide. The patient, Paul Bennett, 47, from Swansea, had motor neurone disease, and he chose to die from a lethal injection at a clinic in Switzerland in May this year. After his death, South Wales Police initiated an inquiry, the force has now indicated that it had been advised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) that no further action should be taken on public interest grounds.
