Claimantâs Legal Team - Solicitor: Russell-Cooke Solicitors Defendantâs Legal Team - Solicitor:Weightmans Solicitors Report submitted by Sarah Towler of Russell-Cooke Solicitors
The Claimant was born on 21 January 1955 and is 51 years old. At the time of the accident he was 50 years old. He was involved
in an accident on 26 February 2005 whilst shopping at the Defendants premises in Lewisham, London, and was carrying two jars
of vegetables and one bottle of ketchup from the shelves to his trolley. Suddenly and without warning, one or both of the
jars disintegrated in our client’s hands and the glass from one of the jars cut his hand. The Claimant sustained a deep c-shape
cut to the little finger of his left hand. The wound was gaping and exposed to the tendon. It required six sutures. The Claimant
is the main carer for his disabled wife and does most of the household chores. He was obliged to keep the wound dry for the
first two weeks after the accident and suffered sensitivity in the hand for a further two weeks after this period. The Claimant
has been left with a 2cm scar. There is no continuing disability.
