The impact of MiFID II upon complaints-handling

One strand of the multitudinous new rules effected by MiFID II when it commences in January, is to introduce “a new breed of complaint”. Noline Matemera and Jack Hargreaves examine this change and its practical ramifications.

It is well known that Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (2014/65/EU) (MiFID II) has many tentacles. One such limb is the impact MiFID II will have on firms’ complaints-handling requirements, when it becomes effective on 3 January 2018.
