Supreme Court to miss out on direct right of action

Rob Collins, of Clyde & Co, takes a look at a UK Court of Appeal ruling which means the Supreme Court will not review direct right of action

The UK Court of Appeal decision in The Yusuf Cepnioglu, [2016] 1 Lloyd’s Rep 651, which has been maligned and championed in equal measure since it came out in April 2016, still stands. The direct right of action battle recently ended in settlement between the parties, before the Supreme Court could get its teeth into it.
