Consent - The Court of Appeal has recently considered the application of the policy applied by the secretary of state’s policy in the detention under the Immigration Act 1971 of persons who have a mental illness, and the adequacy at common law and the Equality Act 2010 procedures by which mentally ill detainees can make representations on matters relating to their detention.
