Contract of affreightment – Definition of gearless – Length of crane or jib – “Protruding parts or equipment” – Effect of rejection at discharge port – Partial loading constituting waiver of non-compliance

The claimant agreed to supply gearless bulk carriers to the respondent for three shipments of harmless coal in bulk, each loading in Indonesia and discharging in Philippines under a Contract of Affreightment (“COA”). The COA was governed by English law.
