Viewpoint: Redefining risk in the energy sector

Geopolitical risk is, increasingly, being recognised by company executives and boards as a concern of paramount importance for corporates. Indeed, research from the Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies shows a 40% increase in risk to cities’ gross domestic product from geopolitics and security over the past four years, totalling almost US$140 billion in 2019, the biggest growth of any risk factor.
