International update: October 2019

IASB meeting

The latest Board meeting took place over three days at the end of September 2019, and covered a wide range of topics, including Business Combinations under Common Control, Rate-Regulated Activities, and Management Commentaries. The Board also discussed its Disclosure Initiative and the review of disclosure objectives in its fair value standard (IFRS 13), and decided on a number of other matters including: the first steps in its forthcoming agenda consultation; the prioritisation of its research activities, and a way forward for its Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Equity project.
