The claimant (MCM) claimed that it had been the victim of a US$284 million fraud perpetrated by the defendants. On 25 May 2017 MCM commenced pre-action disclosure proceedings in Singapore against Straits (Singapore) Ltd (Straits). At that time MCM’s provisional intention was to bring substantive proceedings against Straits in Singapore.
