Focus: Underwriting healthcare risks in the digital age

In 1925, inventor Hugo Gernsback was credited in the Smithsonian magazine as the first person to suggest the potential for technology in medicine. His vision of telemedicine involved a device called a “teledactyl”, which could “allow doctors to not only see their patients through a viewscreen, but also touch them from miles away with spindly robot arms”.
