Refusal of life-saving medication

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust v B (A Minor) [2019] EWHC 1670 (Fam)

In a very sad case in which a 16-year-old girl suffering from insulin dependent diabetes mellitus had developed a potentially life-threatening condition caused by her refusal to administer her insulin therapy, the court ordered that it was in her best interests for doctors to administer treatment to reverse the effects of the condition without her consent.
