EU governments told to increase resources for food controls

Governments in the EU have been urged to increase resources for food controls by BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation, in order to verify that businesses comply with EU food safety and labelling laws. A report by BEUC, “Keeping food in check”, has found that the number of food controls and the resources allocated to them are dwindling across Europe.
