INTA has adopted a resolutionreinforcing the association’s stance against restrictions on the use of brands. Here, INTA’s brand restrictions committee’s Simon Brown and Sergio Barragan explain why they posea threat to trademark rights

Restrictions on how brands can be used ordisplayed on a product or in association with services are increasing, becomingmore onerous and spreading to different sectors. These restrictions pose a realthreat to intellectual property (IP) rights, brand identity, economic growth,and to consumer choice and safety, and are something that all those who work withbrands should be concerned about.
