77m v Ordnance Survey
High Court of England & Wales - 8 November 2019
Giles Pratt, Zofia Aszendorf and Alexandra Morgan, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
The High Court of England and Wales has recently ruled that 77m, a company that created a database linking geospatial information
to residential and non-residential addresses (Matrix), infringed the database rights of Ordnance Survey (the national mapping
agency of Great Britain, OS). 77m’s Matrix would directly compete with OS’ flagship product, AddressBase.
