Case Management Conference – Disclosure – Brussels I Regulation (Council Regulation (EC) No 44/2001)

London Steam-Ship Owners' Mutual Insurance Association Ltd (the Club) appealed against an order pursuant to which the judgment of the Spanish Supreme Court on liability for pollution damage from the vessel Prestige was registered. The potential liability of the Club was limited to approximately €855 million. The Club had, following English court decisions on the competency of the arbitrators, obtained an award and resisted the registration of the Spanish judgment on the basis that it was irreconcilable with the English court decisions. This was a case management conference concerning issues of disclosure.
