Corporate auditors – the way forward for the audit profession? (Part III)

Sir Donald Brydon’s report, 1 Assess, Assure and Inform, contains no fewer than 64 different recommendations that, if implemented, would have a profound effect on the way that audit operates in the UK, and given the global nature of the firms and their clients, internationally. The last two editions of WAR featured articles setting out the principal recommendations. This month summarises the remaining matters, and asks how all the recommendations taken together will achieve the overall aim to “improve audit quality and effectiveness” – the sub-title of Sir Donald’s report.
