“Selling more lawsuits, buying more trouble” – third party litigation funding in US

In 2009, the US Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR) published “Selling Lawsuits, Buying Trouble: Third Party Litigation Funding in the US,” which described the introduction of third-party litigation funding (TPLF) in the US and warned of the possible ill effects of an unregulated and undisclosed financing regime on the American civil justice system at large.
